Today, I am Grateful for…

There’s one especially easy way to improve your life optimistically that only takes about five minutes per day. Besides meditation, this new technique has helped improved my life in about week. But like anything else, you need to be serious about it and commit otherwise you may not see the results.

The one new technique that can help improve your life is to start a gratitude journal. A gratitude journal is a journal used to write down everything you are grateful for that day. You can use any type of journal. Just keep it next to your bed and right before you go to sleep, spend five minutes coming up with at least three things you are grateful for that day. They don’t have to be big events. It could be as simple as:

“I’m grateful for working today — not everybody is able to find a job”

So basically, your journal should be set up kind of like this:

Today, I am grateful for:                                                                         (Date)

1)

2)

3)

When you’re having a bad day and feeling down in the dumps, you can refer back to your gratitude journal. This might improve your mood and remind you that you have a great life. Using the method of a gratitude journal plus meditation, you’re on your way to improving your happiness that can last for longer than a short while. The best way to go about these methods is to meditate in the morning when you first wake up and write in your gratitude journal at night before you go to sleep.

Try these techniques for at least a week and watch how your life improves. It’s really the best way to start your day off great and end it with a smile.
