Sometimes, all you really need is to jump in a hot bath and let the warmth and relaxation calm your mind.
I think a lot of people feel that meditation is easy. FALSE. There’s just an absurd amount of information to learn — the basics, of course, and even intermediate information. I’ll be covering more of the intermediate information in later posts. There are many different ways to meditate. The most common way is to be seated in an Indian style or in a lotus position, which is Indian style but your feet are rested on top of your thighs. Sit up straight so your spine is aligned to get the most out of your breaths, but make sure you’re in a comfortable position. Your eyes can be open or closed, depending on what you prefer. In one form of a meditation position, you can place your hands palms up on your knees. This is to give you energy through your palms. You are open to receive energy. By placing palms down, you are grounding yourself. Another aspect that is open to your preference is whether you want to meditate in silence, meditate to some type of music, or meditate to “om”. For the beginners, try it out. Even if you can sit for five minutes that’s a great start. You’ll be able to work your way up in no time.
