We tend to worry more about what could happen rather than just living in the moment. Worrying will get you nowhere. I can bet approximately 90% of your worries won’t come true. So why do we worry? Why do we expect the worst to happen to us? Bad things do happen, but they aren’t the only things to happen to us. We expect the worst to happen because when they do, it isn’t so bad. But is that really better than living happily and positively? If we worry less, we can focus on the present moment. It’s important to focus on what’s happening right now to put your mind at ease instead of being depressed about the past or anxious about the future. It’s a difficult task to block out the past and future — but you can’t totally block it all out and you shouldn’t block it all out. It helps you grow into a better person. Cutting out the major worry in our lives can help with so much — sleep, stress, weight control, happiness, anxiety, depression.
Practice putting your mind into the present moment. Everything happens for a reason, so why worry about it? If it’s going to happen, it happens. But more likely than anything, you’re worrying for absolutely nothing. So just breathe, because everything is going to be okay. 🙂

I started a new meditation challenge this morning. After just one morning, I can already feel a calmness inside of me. My mind is calm rather than crowded with thoughts.The meditation challenge I’m participating in is called Oprah and Deepak: 21-Day Meditation Challenge, which you can use that link to register for free. I recommend it with everything in me. I’ve participated in their previous meditation challenge and it was simply wonderful, to say the least.
Who are you? Of course you’re so-and-so, but who are you? It’s so much deeper than just your name and what you do. It’s a question we don’t ask ourselves enough. What were we put on this Earth to do? There’s a purpose for every person, no matter who they are. Delve inside your mind and let it come to you. It’s not an easy task so ask yourself everyday the question, “Who am I?”.
The best part of meditation is when you reach that point of bliss. That moment where you’re sitting and your thumb is touching one of your fingers (whichever hand position you prefer) and then all of sudden, it all goes numb. You suddenly can’t feel your fingers touching even though they are. Your body is so still, yet not too stiff. Your breathing is consistent and you’re focused on the present moment. What’s happening right now. We’re all so focused on different parts of our lives rather than the present moment. Even I find myself thinking about the future, worrying that it might not turn out the way I’ve planned. Or I’m thinking about the past and how I should have reacted or what I should have said. That’s the great thing about meditation — it helps you forget about the past and the future and it helps you focus on the present moment, because that’s really all that is important right now. When we focus on the present moment we have less worry, anxiety, depression, and sadness and we have more happiness, calmness, and peace in our lives.
